Our Mission

Empathic.  The decision to enter therapy may be difficult in that it can be emotionally challenging, require much effort to work towards your goals and may raise concerns about privacy.  It is our mission to provide you with both compassionate and private care.

Confidential. Maintaining your privacy and providing care with discretion, makes Counseling Associates a safe place that you can relax and fully participate in the therapy process.  We are devoted to state and national laws with regard to protected health information (HIPPA) and the confidential ethical codes required by our state licenses and the ethics code of our professions.

Effective.  With over 30 years of combined experience and education from top universities, our mission is to help you meet your goals with understanding, privacy, and highly effective interventions.

Treatment begins with a thorough clinical interview to assess your needs and establishing individualized treatment goals that are woven into your therapy sessions.  These goals are met through the utilization of the most recent psychology interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), emotion-focused therapy (EFT), psychodynamic approaches, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), among others.

Because Counseling Associates is a growth-oriented practice, we believe that our own professional growth is a top priority.  The more we know, the more we will be able to offer you in terms of treatment options.  Our focus on continual education and skill development gives us a unique advantage in the private practice world.

“Oh, the comfort - the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person - having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together; certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then with the breath of kindness blow the rest away.”
~Dinah Craik, A Life for a Life, 1859
